Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Government Office Aide to join our team in Tucson, AZ, with a specific focus on State Benefits. In this vital role, you will provide essential administrative and direct support to citizens seeking various state benefits, ensuring smooth operations and compassionate service delivery. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to public service, assisting individuals and families navigate complex benefit programs and access critical resources. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, a strong commitment to public service, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with applications, inquiries, and documentation related to state benefits programs (e.g., SNAP, TANF, AHCCCS).
  • Provide information and referrals to appropriate services and resources, both within ADES and external community partners.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in both physical and digital formats.
  • Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and prepare correspondence for case workers and supervisors.
  • Perform general office duties including data entry, filing, scanning, and managing office supplies.
  • Answer phones, direct calls, and respond to general inquiries in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve service delivery.
  • Adhere to all state and federal regulations concerning client privacy and benefit program guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Customer service experience, preferably in a public sector or social services setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with state or federal benefit programs.
  • Familiarity with government administrative procedures and record-keeping.
