Job Description
Are you hands-on, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn a valuable trade? Life Fitness is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Gym Equipment Technician. No prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive training and all the tools you’ll need to succeed! You’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of our world-class fitness equipment at various client sites across Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities
- Attend training sessions to learn about Life Fitness equipment, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on a variety of gym equipment (treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, strength machines).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues efficiently and accurately.
- Execute repairs, including part replacement, calibration, and system adjustments.
- Install new fitness equipment at client locations according to specifications.
- Maintain accurate service records and submit reports in a timely manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service, explaining technical issues clearly to clients.
- Manage and maintain company-provided tools and vehicle (if applicable).
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines during service calls.
Required Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to work with tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to learn new technical concepts quickly and apply them effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A valid UK driving license is essential for travel to client sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hands-on role (e.g., automotive repair, appliance repair, general maintenance) is a plus but not required.
- Basic understanding of electronics or electrical systems.
- Experience with diagnostic tools or software.
- NVQ Level 2 in Engineering or a related technical field.
