Job Description

Are you looking for an easy, fulfilling, and impactful job? Goodwill Industries of Northern Nevada is seeking a High School Clothing Sorter to join our dedicated team in MidTown Reno. This entry-level position is perfect for students or anyone new to the workforce who wants to contribute to a great cause. You will play a vital role in our mission by helping to process donated clothing, ensuring quality items are made available to our community. No prior experience is required – we provide all the training you need! This is an on-site position in our bustling charity warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently sort and categorize donated clothing items according to established guidelines.
  • Inspect clothing for quality, cleanliness, and damage, setting aside items that meet our retail standards.
  • Prepare items for storage or display, which may include hanging, folding, or bagging.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the sorting area.
  • Assist with moving inventory within the warehouse as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily production goals.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Basic organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds comfortably.
  • Reliability and strong punctuality.
  • Ability to follow simple instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a warehouse, retail, or sorting environment (not required, but a plus).
  • Enthusiasm for Goodwill's mission and a desire to contribute to community betterment.
