Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented high school student looking to gain valuable work experience in a dynamic retail environment? Target is seeking a motivated Inventory Aide to support our clothing retail department in Elk Grove, CA. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our merchandise is accurately received, organized, and stocked, contributing directly to an excellent shopping experience for our guests. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the accurate receiving, unpacking, and processing of new clothing merchandise.
- Organize and maintain the stockroom, ensuring all inventory is stored efficiently and according to company standards.
- Perform regular cycle counts and assist with inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Help with stocking the sales floor, ensuring products are displayed neatly and are easily accessible to guests.
- Support visual merchandising efforts by ensuring clothing racks and displays are well-maintained.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the stockroom and sales floor.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail.
- Basic mathematical skills for counting and tracking inventory.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in high school or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a retail environment or with inventory handling (volunteer experience counts).
