Job Description
Join Humana as a Home Health Aide, supporting our afternoon roster in the Henderson area. This vital role involves providing direct patient care and assistance with daily living activities to individuals in their homes, as well as offering support within local clinic settings when needed. You will be an integral part of our care team, ensuring patients receive the highest quality of compassionate care, promoting their independence, and contributing to their overall well-being. This position requires a dedicated individual with a strong commitment to patient dignity and a flexible approach to care delivery across various environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
- Provide support with mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and equipment as required.
- Help patients with light housekeeping duties, meal preparation, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs, document patient observations, and report any changes to the supervising nurse.
- Assist with medication reminders as directed by the care plan.
- Accompany patients to appointments or outings, providing companionship and supervision.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Provide compassionate care that respects patient rights and privacy.
- Fulfill duties within local clinic settings, supporting clinical staff and patient flow as needed during afternoon hours.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or CNA license in Nevada
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to lift and move patients safely
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in home health or a similar care setting
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, Tagalog) a plus
