Job Description
Join our dedicated catering team as a Hospital Catering Porter, playing a crucial role in the daily operations of our food service department. You will be responsible for the efficient and hygienic transportation of food, beverages, and catering equipment throughout the hospital. This role is essential in supporting patient nutrition and comfort, as well as maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and service within the catering function. Key Responsibilities
- Transport meals, beverages, and catering supplies to various wards and departments.
- Collect used trolleys, dishes, and equipment for cleaning.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of catering deliveries.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all catering areas and equipment.
- Operate and clean dishwashing machinery and other catering equipment.
- Adhere to all food safety and health and safety regulations.
- Support the catering team in daily tasks as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy items.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a catering or portering role.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 1 or 2).
- Experience of working in a healthcare environment.
