Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated HPLC Chemist – Chromatography Specialist to join our analytical team in New Port Richey, FL. This role is crucial for our quality control and research efforts, focusing on the analysis of pharmaceutical compounds, environmental samples, or other complex matrices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) systems, including method development and validation. You will be responsible for conducting accurate and precise analytical testing, interpreting results, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot HPLC systems, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
  • Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing of samples using established HPLC methods.
  • Develop, validate, and optimize HPLC analytical methods for new compounds or matrices.
  • Accurately record, compile, and interpret analytical data, preparing detailed reports and documentation.
  • Conduct instrument calibration and preventative maintenance according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure all laboratory activities comply with GLP/GMP, company policies, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and other scientific teams to support project goals.
  • Manage chemical inventory and dispose of hazardous waste properly.
  • Stay current with scientific literature and advancements in chromatography techniques.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in HPLC operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of chromatography theory and principles.
  • Experience with method development and validation.
  • Familiarity with GLP/GMP regulations and quality control procedures.
  • Excellent data analysis, interpretation, and reporting skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as an HPLC Chemist in a pharmaceutical, CRO, or related industry.
  • Experience with Empower, Chromeleon, or similar chromatography data systems (CDS).
  • Knowledge of other analytical techniques (e.g., GC, LC-MS, GC-MS).
  • Prior experience in a regulated laboratory setting (e.g., ISO 17025).
