Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Infusion Nurse (RN) to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialized care in a private clinic setting, focusing on administering various intravenous therapies. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, a compassionate approach to patient care, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities
- Administer intravenous therapies, including antibiotics, biologics, hydration, and other specialized medications, in accordance with physician orders and clinic protocols.
- Assess patient health status, including medical history, current symptoms, and vital signs, before, during, and after infusion therapy.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications during infusions and implement appropriate interventions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Educate patients and their families on infusion procedures, medication side effects, and self-care techniques.
- Ensure a sterile environment and adhere to all infection control policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care plans.
- Manage and maintain inventory of infusion supplies and equipment.
- Provide compassionate and empathetic care, ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in infusion therapy, critical care, or a related specialty.
- Proficiency in venipuncture and IV catheter insertion techniques.
- Strong knowledge of various infusion medications, their indications, contraindications, and potential side effects.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems specific to infusion clinics.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
