Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and reliable Inventory Tagger to join our retail support team for casual weekend work at our St. Boniface, Winnipeg location. This role is perfect for someone with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy, who is looking for flexible hours. As an Inventory Tagger, you will be crucial in maintaining precise inventory records, ensuring that our shelves are stocked correctly, and our customers can find what they need. Your primary focus will be on receiving, tagging, and organizing incoming merchandise, contributing directly to the operational efficiency and overall success of our store.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately tag and label new merchandise upon arrival, ensuring correct pricing and product information.
  • Organize and place new inventory onto shelves or in storage areas according to established guidelines.
  • Perform regular inventory counts and assist with stock audits to verify accuracy.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the inventory supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in receiving and storage areas.
  • Assist with moving and lifting merchandise, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Collaborate with retail staff to ensure timely replenishment of sales floor inventory.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to inventory management and store operations.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Reliability and punctuality for scheduled weekend shifts.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading labels and counting inventory.
  • Physical ability to lift and move boxes (up to 25 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a retail or warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems or processes.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfortable using handheld scanning devices.
