Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Python Developer to join our innovative and fast-paced team. This is a 100% remote role, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. You will play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and optimizing Python-based solutions primarily focused on data integration and analysis within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional to grow their skills in a supportive environment, working with cutting-edge technologies and collaborating with experienced engineers. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Work with Google Cloud Platform services, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataflow, to manage and process large datasets.
- Collaborate with senior developers and data engineers to design and implement robust data pipelines.
- Assist in debugging, testing, and troubleshooting Python applications and data workflows.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
- Document technical specifications and data processes clearly and concisely.
- Continuously learn and apply new technologies and best practices in Python development and Google Cloud services.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Python programming.
- Basic understanding of SQL for data manipulation.
- Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with any Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions).
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with RESTful APIs.
- A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Completed relevant online courses or certifications in Python or cloud platforms.
