Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Lab Assistant in our scientific setting in Moncton, New Brunswick. This ongoing work opportunity is perfect for someone eager to start their career in a laboratory environment, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to critical quality assurance processes. The successful candidate will support our senior lab technicians and scientists, performing routine tasks essential to our daily operations and product integrity. This role offers comprehensive training and a chance to develop foundational laboratory skills within a supportive and collaborative team. This position is On-site and requires daily presence at our Moncton facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior lab personnel with the preparation of samples for testing.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and analyses following established protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, observations, and results.
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, glassware, and work areas to ensure a sterile and organized environment.
  • Prepare reagents and solutions accurately and safely.
  • Assist with inventory management of laboratory supplies and chemicals, notifying supervisors when supplies need replenishment.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and quality control standards.
  • Support data entry and preliminary analysis under supervision.
  • Participate in training programs and continuous learning opportunities to enhance laboratory skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of scientific principles and laboratory safety.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of some post-secondary science courses or a relevant college program (e.g., Science, Biotechnology, Food Science).
  • Prior experience in a lab setting (academic or volunteer) is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Experience with basic lab equipment (e.g., pH meters, balances).
