Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Loading Bay Operative to join our busy night shift team immediately at our Wembley distribution centre. This crucial role involves the efficient and safe loading and unloading of goods, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of products. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently load and unload vehicles, ensuring all goods are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against manifests or other documents.
- Sort and organise goods within the loading bay area for optimal space utilisation and easy retrieval.
- Operate pallet trucks and other manual handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organised loading bay area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns immediately to supervisors.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and meet operational deadlines.
- Perform general warehouse duties as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively during night hours (typically 10 PM – 6 AM).
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy items safely.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in checking documentation.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or loading bay environment.
- Forklift license (reach or counterbalance) is a plus, but not essential as training can be provided.
- Basic understanding of warehouse management systems.
