Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Lobby Porter to join our afternoon shift team at The Queens Hotel Leeds. As a Lobby Porter, you will be the first and last impression for many of our guests, playing a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. This role requires excellent customer service skills, physical stamina for handling luggage, and a proactive approach to supporting our guests and hotel operations. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival and departure, assisting with luggage handling and storage.
- Escort guests to their rooms, providing information about hotel facilities and services.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming lobby area, ensuring all public spaces are presentable.
- Assist with package and delivery handling, ensuring secure storage and timely distribution.
- Provide accurate information about local attractions, dining, and transportation options.
- Support the concierge and front desk teams with various tasks as needed.
- Monitor lobby activity and report any suspicious behaviour or security concerns.
- Operate and maintain hotel vehicles for guest transportation or errands, if required and licensed.
- Handle guest inquiries and requests efficiently and courteously, anticipating needs where possible.
- Ensure all guest interactions reflect the high standards of The Queens Hotel Leeds.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a customer-facing role, preferably within hospitality.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- A high level of physical fitness and ability to lift and carry heavy luggage.
- Proactive and positive 'can-do' attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Impeccable personal presentation and grooming.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Flexibility to work afternoon shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Lobby Porter or in a similar role within a luxury hotel.
- Knowledge of Leeds city centre and surrounding areas.
- A valid UK driving license with a clean record.
- Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
