Job Description

Are you a passionate gamer with a keen eye for detail and fluency in multiple languages? Electronic Arts (EA) is seeking a dedicated Localization Tester to join our quality assurance team in Wesley Chapel, Florida. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the linguistic and cultural integrity of our world-class games for global audiences. You will meticulously test localized versions of our titles, identifying and accurately reporting any text errors, cultural inaccuracies, or display issues. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to combine your love for gaming with your language skills, making a tangible impact on the player experience for millions worldwide. We are specifically looking for candidates with bilingual proficiency in English and at least one of the following: Spanish, Japanese, or French.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute comprehensive test plans for localized game builds across various platforms.
  • Identify, document, and track linguistic bugs, cultural inconsistencies, and functional defects within the game’s user interface, in-game text, audio, and subtitles.
  • Verify translations for accuracy, context, tone, and compliance with platform-specific terminology and linguistic style guides.
  • Provide clear, concise, and detailed bug reports using our bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, DevTrack).
  • Collaborate closely with development teams, localization project managers, and other QA testers to ensure high-quality localized releases.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and contribute to the development of test cases.
  • Communicate effectively across different cultural and linguistic teams.

Required Skills

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) and at least one of the following: Spanish, Japanese, or French.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong passion for video games across various genres and platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a diverse team.
  • Basic understanding of quality assurance methodologies and bug reporting procedures.
  • Familiarity with gaming terminology and cultural nuances specific to your chosen language(s).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in localization testing or quality assurance within the video game industry.
  • Experience with bug tracking software such as Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of the game development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of multiple gaming platforms (PC, console, mobile).
  • Ability to adapt to new tools and technologies quickly.
