Job Description
We are urgently seeking dedicated Logistics Laborers to join our dynamic team in Barking, Greater London. This is an immediate start, full-time position offering a competitive hourly wage and a shift differential for certain shifts. As a Logistics Laborer, you will play a crucial role in our warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient movement and handling of goods. Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight, manually or with equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against packing lists or other records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring safety standards are met at all times.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with inventory counts and quality control checks as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25 kg) regularly.
- Excellent reliability and punctuality.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety protocols.
- Good team player with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar industrial environment.
- Forklift certification (Reach Truck, Counterbalance) is a plus.
- Experience with RF scanners or other warehouse management systems.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
