Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Civilian Driver to support a secure federal contract at a military installation near Santa Monica, CA. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of personnel, equipment, and sensitive materials. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to strict security protocols, and a strong commitment to safety and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe driving, the ability to pass rigorous background checks, and a professional demeanor suitable for a secure government environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of vehicles, including sedans, vans, and light trucks, on and off military installations.
- Transport personnel, supplies, and sensitive equipment to designated locations according to schedules and dispatch instructions.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned vehicles, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, military base regulations, and company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery records.
- Ensure the security and integrity of all cargo during transit.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and military personnel.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class C Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, requiring successful completion of a federal background investigation.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience.
- Thorough understanding of traffic laws and defensive driving techniques.
- Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and reliability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in maintaining simple records and logs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience driving on military installations or within a government contracting environment.
- Prior experience handling sensitive or classified materials.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Active security clearance (e.g., Secret or Top Secret).
