Job Description

Electronic Arts (EA) is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Monetization & Game Economy Intern to join our dynamic team in Saint John, New Brunswick. This is an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the exciting world of video game development, contributing to the strategic design of game features that drive player engagement and sustainable revenue. As a Monetization & Game Economy Intern, you will work closely with experienced designers, product managers, and data analysts to support the development and implementation of monetization strategies and game economy systems. You will assist in analyzing player behavior, market trends, and competitive landscapes to inform decision-making. This role offers a unique chance to learn about the intricate balance between player satisfaction and business objectives in the gaming industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the research and analysis of game economy trends, player behavior, and monetization strategies across various game titles.
- Support the design and balancing of in-game economies, virtual goods, and reward systems.
- Help prepare data-driven reports and presentations on monetization performance and player engagement metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including game design, product management, and engineering, to implement and iterate on features.
- Contribute to A/B testing initiatives and evaluate the impact of changes on player experience and business KPIs.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for new features and content updates.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar data analysis tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Deep passion for video games and familiarity with various monetization models.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Economics, Business, Data Science, Game Design, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of statistical analysis and data visualization.
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for data manipulation.
- Previous experience with game design tools or platforms.
- Experience playing or analyzing free-to-play games and their economies.
