Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Music Rights & Licensing Clerk with a strong legal focus to join our team in Hialeah, Florida. This role is essential in supporting our legal and business affairs departments by managing music rights, processing licensing requests, and ensuring compliance with intellectual property laws. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a foundational understanding of legal documentation within the music industry. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the accurate processing and maintenance of music copyright registrations and related documentation.
- Support the licensing team by preparing and reviewing music usage agreements and processing incoming requests.
- Verify and reconcile royalty statements, ensuring all rights holders are properly credited and compensated.
- Maintain comprehensive and organized records of music rights, publishing agreements, and licensing contracts.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal teams, artists, publishers, and external partners regarding rights and licensing inquiries.
- Conduct thorough research on intellectual property rights, legal precedents, and industry best practices.
- Assist in the preparation of legal documents, reports, and presentations as needed by the legal department.
- Ensure all activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in legal terminology and document management.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Paralegal Studies, Music Business, Entertainment Law, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a legal, administrative, or rights management role within the music or entertainment industry.
- Familiarity with intellectual property law, specifically copyright and trademark.
- Experience with rights management software or database systems.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus, given our diverse market.
