Job Description
Join the dynamic team at Carnival Cruise Line as a Part-time Weekend Cruise Ship Staff member, specializing in Port Operations. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient and smooth port calls and guest embarkation/disembarkation processes. You will be an integral part of our ground support team, working directly with port authorities, ship’s crew, and guests to facilitate various coastal operations. This is a part-time position, primarily scheduled for weekends, ideal for individuals seeking flexible work while contributing to the exciting world of cruises. The role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the coordination and execution of guest embarkation and disembarkation procedures.
- Provide clear directions and information to guests regarding port logistics, shuttle services, and ship access.
- Liaise with port authorities, customs, and immigration officials to ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Support the loading and unloading of ship supplies and provisions as directed.
- Monitor passenger flow and manage queue lines efficiently.
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve minor issues related to port operations with professionalism.
- Assist with baggage handling and sorting in designated port areas.
- Adhere to all safety and security protocols established by Carnival Cruise Line and port authorities.
- Collaborate with ship's crew and onshore teams to ensure seamless transition between land and sea operations.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Must be available to work weekends and occasional holidays.
- Valid driver's license (if applicable for port shuttle coordination).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or logistics.
- Familiarity with cruise line operations or port environments.
