Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Weekend Recycling Hand at our state-of-the-art modern recycling plant in New Port Richey. This part-time position is crucial for our weekend operations, ensuring the efficient sorting and processing of recyclable materials. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, physically capable individual with a strong work ethic, ready to contribute to our mission of sustainability. No prior experience is necessary; we provide comprehensive training.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort various recyclable materials (e.g., plastics, paper, glass, metals) on a conveyor belt or designated sorting area according to company standards.
- Remove non-recyclable items and contaminants from the waste stream.
- Operate basic plant equipment safely and efficiently after receiving training.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
- Assist with general plant maintenance and cleanup tasks as needed.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding waste handling and personal safety.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily production targets.
Required Skills
- Ability to work reliably on weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday).
- Strong attention to detail for accurate material sorting.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety guidelines.
- Basic understanding of English for communication and safety instructions.
- Reliable transportation to and from the plant location.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or recycling environment (not required, but a plus).
- Familiarity with various types of recyclable materials.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt.
