Job Description

Join the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino team as a Night Porter, where you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and secure operation of our hotel during the overnight hours. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to start a career in hospitality, as full training will be provided. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of public areas, assisting guests with various requests, and supporting the night audit team. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks in lobbies, hallways, and other public areas.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, such as delivering extra amenities or assisting with luggage.
  • Monitor and report any safety or security concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist the Night Audit team with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and report any shortages.
  • Ensure all assigned areas are clean, tidy, and presentable for the next day's operations.
  • Handle light maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs or minor repairs, as trained.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items frequently.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
  • Familiarity with hotel operations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.
