Job Description

Are you a problem-solver with a passion for helping others succeed in the digital commerce space? Shopify Inc. is looking for a dedicated Online Shopify Support Specialist to join our remote team in Canada. This role is 100% remote, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere within Canada, including North Vancouver. You will be the first point of contact for Shopify merchants, providing exceptional support and guidance on using the Shopify platform to manage and grow their online stores. We’re looking for someone who is empathetic, resourceful, and eager to learn the intricacies of e-commerce and our platform. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and effective technical support and guidance to Shopify merchants via email, chat, and occasionally phone.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to Shopify's platform, including themes, apps, payments, and general store management.
  • Educate merchants on Shopify features and best practices to optimize their online stores and improve sales.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior support or development teams when necessary, ensuring a smooth hand-off and follow-up.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and resolutions using our internal CRM system.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our knowledge base and internal documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with new Shopify features, products, and services.
  • Represent Shopify's values of empathy, integrity, and merchant success in every interaction.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in navigating and troubleshooting web-based applications.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
  • A genuine interest in e-commerce and helping small businesses thrive.
  • Basic understanding of web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS) is an asset, but not required.
  • Previous customer service or technical support experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the Shopify platform as a user or merchant.
  • Experience working in a remote team setting.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce best practices and trends.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset.
