Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Outpatient Pharmacy Technician to join our busy retail pharmacy team in Ventura, CA. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Process patient prescriptions, including data entry, insurance verification, and billing.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries and resolving issues professionally.
- Operate pharmacy systems and cash registers, handling transactions with precision.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with all regulations.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and other pharmacy staff.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and company regulations and policies, including HIPAA.
- Assist with immunization record keeping and scheduling, as needed.
Required Skills
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) or equivalent state registration/license.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or outpatient setting.
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and basic computer applications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Solid understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, dosages, and drug classifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Walgreens pharmacy systems (e.g., Intercom Plus).
- Associate's degree or higher in a related field.
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
