Job Description
Reddit is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-time Online Moderator to join our team. In this 100% remote role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the quality and safety of our online communities by reviewing user-generated content, enforcing community guidelines, and providing support to users. This position offers flexible scheduling, making it ideal for individuals looking for meaningful part-time work that fits their lifestyle. Key Responsibilities
- Review user-submitted content (posts, comments, images, videos) for adherence to Reddit's content policies and terms of service.
- Take appropriate action on violating content, including removal, warnings, or user bans, escalating complex cases to senior moderators or legal teams when necessary.
- Respond to user inquiries and appeals regarding moderation actions with clarity and and empathy.
- Actively monitor designated subreddits or content queues for emerging trends or potential policy violations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of moderation guidelines and processes by providing feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of moderation activities and decisions.
- Collaborate with other moderators and team members to ensure consistent application of policies.
Required Skills
- Excellent written communication skills in English.
- Strong understanding of online community dynamics and user behavior.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and potentially offensive content with professionalism.
- Proven ability to make sound judgments quickly and consistently.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Familiarity with online moderation tools and platforms.
- Access to a reliable internet connection and a personal computer.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in online content moderation or community management.
- Familiarity with Reddit's platform, rules, and user culture.
