Job Description
Are you bursting with creative ideas and eager to start your career in event design? Blue Fizz Events is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Junior Party & Event Decorator to join our dynamic team in Heavitree, Exeter. This entry-level role is perfect for someone with a keen eye for aesthetics, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn the ins and outs of event styling and decoration. You will work closely with our lead designers, assisting in all stages of event setup, execution, and breakdown, contributing to the magic that makes each event unique. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior decorators in the planning, preparation, and execution of event decor according to design briefs.
- Help with the selection, procurement, and organization of decorative items, including floral arrangements, lighting, props, and textiles.
- Set up and dismantle event decorations at various venues, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
- Maintain inventory of decorative supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is in excellent condition and accounted for.
- Support the design team in creating mood boards, mock-ups, and presentations for client proposals.
- Attend site visits and client meetings as needed to understand event spaces and client expectations.
- Ensure all decorations meet quality standards and align with the client's vision and brand guidelines.
- Assist with post-event clean-up and storage of decorative elements.
- Learn and adhere to all health and safety regulations during event setup and breakdown.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for event design, decoration, and aesthetics.
- Basic understanding of color theory, spatial arrangement, and visual merchandising.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move decorative items.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
