Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and compassionate Night Attendant to join our pet boarding facility in Rotherham. This vital role involves monitoring the well-being and safety of our animal guests during the quiet overnight hours. You will ensure a calm environment, attend to any immediate needs, and provide comfort to the animals. This is an ideal position for a responsible individual who loves animals and can work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular welfare checks on all boarded animals throughout the night.
- Monitor animal behavior for any signs of distress, illness, or unusual activity.
- Ensure the facility remains clean and secure during your shift.
- Provide fresh water and attend to late-night comfort breaks for animals as needed.
- Respond calmly and effectively to any emergencies, following established protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of animal status and any incidents observed during the shift.
- Ensure a peaceful and quiet environment for resting animals.
Required Skills
- Genuine love and respect for animals.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Excellent observation skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working overnight shifts.
- Basic understanding of animal welfare and behavior.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in animal care, pet sitting, or a similar role.
- First Aid certification for animals (desirable but not essential).
- Ability to handle various breeds and temperaments of pets.
- Strong communication skills for handover reports.
