Job Description

Are you meticulous, organized, and ready to play a crucial role in the efficient movement of life-saving medications? McKesson Corporation is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Logistics Technician with a strong focus on freight and distribution to join our team in Santa Rosa, California. In this vital on-site role, you will be instrumental in managing the flow of pharmaceutical products, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to our clients. You’ll work within our state-of-the-art distribution center, handling everything from inventory processing to outbound shipment preparation, upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and accurately store incoming pharmaceutical shipments, verifying quantities against purchase orders and identifying any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and fulfill outgoing orders, ensuring correct product selection, packaging, and labeling according to company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts, if certified) safely and efficiently to move products within the distribution center.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using our warehouse management system, performing regular cycle counts and assisting with inventory audits.
  • Coordinate with freight carriers for timely pickups and deliveries, preparing all necessary shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading, manifests).
  • Monitor product expiration dates and storage conditions to ensure product integrity and compliance with pharmaceutical regulations.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, quality control procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, DEA, GMP).
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams (e.g., pharmacy, customer service) and external partners regarding shipment status and issues.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with inventory management or warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry objects up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (1+ years) in a warehouse, logistics, or pharmacy setting, particularly with pharmaceutical products.
  • Certification for operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical storage and handling regulations (e.g., cold chain management).
  • Familiarity with freight and distribution processes.
  • Associate's degree or relevant technical certification.
