Job Description
Are you a motivated pharmacy student looking to gain invaluable hands-on experience in a dynamic retail pharmacy setting? CVS Health is seeking a Pharmacy Tech Intern to join our team in Land O’ Lakes, Florida. This internship offers flexible hours designed to accommodate your academic schedule, allowing you to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world environment. You will work alongside experienced pharmacists and technicians, learning the foundational aspects of pharmacy operations, patient care, and medication management. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Process patient prescriptions, including data entry, insurance verification, and adherence to all regulatory requirements.
- Maintain organized patient profiles and ensure confidentiality of all health information.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including stocking shelves, monitoring expiration dates, and assisting with order placement.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient inquiries and assisting with over-the-counter product selection.
- Learn and adhere to all federal, state, and company regulations regarding pharmacy practice and patient safety.
- Support the pharmacy team in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first approach.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Must be able to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior customer service or retail experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Bilingual skills (especially Spanish) are a plus.
- Prior volunteer or shadowing experience in a healthcare setting.
