Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart your career in healthcare? CVS Health is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Pharmacy Tech Trainees. This entry-level position is perfect for those with little to no prior experience in a pharmacy setting. We provide comprehensive training to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to become a successful Pharmacy Technician. You’ll learn the ropes in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment, assisting pharmacists and providing excellent customer service. This role is a fantastic opportunity to grow within a leading healthcare company.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all required training modules and on-the-job training to learn pharmacy operations and procedures.
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including counting, pouring, and labeling prescriptions.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering patient questions and resolving issues under pharmacist supervision.
- Process prescription orders, manage inventory, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Operate pharmacy point-of-sale systems and handle cash transactions accurately.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.
Required Skills
- Strong desire to learn and develop a career in pharmacy.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail role.
- Familiarity with medical terminology (a plus, but not required).
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
