Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in extensive on-the-job training with senior piano tuners and technicians.
  • Learn the principles of acoustic physics as they apply to piano tuning and regulation.
  • Develop skills in using specialized tools for tuning and minor repairs.
  • Assist in the disassembly, inspection, and cleaning of piano mechanisms.
  • Observe and practice precise hammer and damper regulation techniques.
  • Learn to identify and resolve common piano issues, including sticky keys and string breakages.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding their piano's condition and maintenance needs.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company standards for service excellence.

  • Strong desire to learn and master a specialized trade.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Good listening skills and an ability to discern pitch differences (or willingness to develop).
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
