Job Description
Are you a passionate gamer with a keen eye for detail and a desire to ensure the best possible player experience? Electronic Arts is looking for a Junior Quality Analyst to join the Apex Legends Performance Team. In this role, you will be instrumental in identifying, documenting, and verifying performance-related issues within the Apex Legends game, contributing directly to the quality and stability of one of the world’s most popular battle royale titles. You will work closely with development and QA teams, leveraging your analytical skills to diagnose problems and provide clear, actionable feedback. Key Responsibilities
- Execute test plans and procedures to identify performance bottlenecks, frame rate drops, and other technical issues in Apex Legends.
- Thoroughly document bugs, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results, using bug tracking software.
- Collaborate with engineers and senior QA analysts to understand technical specifications and performance targets.
- Verify bug fixes and performance improvements in various builds and environments.
- Provide clear and concise feedback on game performance, stability, and overall quality.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings, contributing to a collaborative QA process.
- Conduct ad-hoc testing to uncover edge-case performance issues.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for video games, especially competitive online multiplayer titles like Apex Legends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to follow test plans meticulously and accurately report findings.
- Basic understanding of PC hardware components and their impact on game performance.
- Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a QA role, even in an informal capacity (e.g., game beta testing, modding communities).
- Basic knowledge of software development lifecycle and QA methodologies.
- Experience with performance monitoring tools or profilers.
- A degree or certification in Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field.
- Familiarity with various gaming platforms (PC, console).
