Job Description
Are you passionate about music and possess an exceptional ear for detail? Gorrill’s Music is offering a unique opportunity to embark on a rewarding career as a Piano Tuner (Trainee). This comprehensive, paid training program is designed to transform enthusiastic individuals into skilled piano technicians. You will learn the intricate art and science of piano tuning, regulation, and minor repair from seasoned professionals, mastering a high-demand trade that ensures the beauty and integrity of pianos for generations to come. No prior experience is required; we are looking for individuals with a strong aptitude, patience, and a genuine desire to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in a structured, comprehensive training program covering all aspects of piano tuning, regulation, and repair.
- Shadow and assist experienced piano technicians on customer visits and in the workshop.
- Learn to identify and correct pitch discrepancies, string wear, and mechanical issues.
- Develop proficiency in using specialized tuning tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Adhere to established quality standards and best practices for piano care and maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including tools and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing professional and courteous service under supervision.
- Continuously develop knowledge of various piano makes, models, and their unique characteristics.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (travel to client locations will be required post-training).

- High school diploma or equivalent.
