Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Software Engineer to join our remote team in the USA. As a Software Engineer at Pinterest, you will be instrumental in building and scaling the core platforms and user-facing features that connect millions of people with their passions. You will work on challenging problems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to a product that truly inspires. This is a 100% remote position within the USA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable and reliable software solutions for Pinterest’s core products.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features and improvements.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in languages like Python, Java, or Go.
  • Participate in code reviews, contributing to a high standard of code quality.
  • Debug and resolve complex technical issues across distributed systems.
  • Contribute to the architectural design and evolution of Pinterest’s infrastructure.
  • Monitor and optimize application performance and reliability.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages like Python, Java, Go, or C++.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems and microservices architecture.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies and frameworks (e.g., React, JavaScript) for full-stack roles.
  • Experience in machine learning systems or relevance ranking.
  • Prior experience working in a fully remote environment.
