Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Software Engineer to join our remote team in the USA. As a Software Engineer at Pinterest, you will be instrumental in building and scaling the core platforms and user-facing features that connect millions of people with their passions. You will work on challenging problems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to a product that truly inspires. This is a 100% remote position within the USA.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable and reliable software solutions for Pinterest’s core products.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features and improvements.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in languages like Python, Java, or Go.
- Participate in code reviews, contributing to a high standard of code quality.
- Debug and resolve complex technical issues across distributed systems.
- Contribute to the architectural design and evolution of Pinterest’s infrastructure.
- Monitor and optimize application performance and reliability.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages like Python, Java, Go, or C++.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and microservices architecture.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
- Familiarity with front-end technologies and frameworks (e.g., React, JavaScript) for full-stack roles.
- Experience in machine learning systems or relevance ranking.
- Prior experience working in a fully remote environment.
