Job Description
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and motivated Podcast Transcriptionist to join our remote team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the accuracy and accessibility of our extensive podcast library, directly impacting user experience and content discoverability. You will play a crucial role in transforming spoken audio into written text, making our podcasts more searchable, shareable, and enjoyable for a global audience. This role offers the unique chance to immerse yourself in diverse content, from emerging artists to established industry thought leaders, constantly learning about new trends and discussions shaping the audio landscape. This position is 100% remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe audio recordings of podcasts accurately and efficiently, adhering to strict style guides and deadlines.
- Proofread and edit transcriptions to ensure grammatical correctness, punctuation, and speaker identification.
- Identify and flag any audio quality issues or ambiguous content for review.
- Collaborate with content and editorial teams to ensure high-quality output.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive content.
- Utilize transcription software and tools effectively.
Required Skills
- Exceptional listening skills and strong command of the English language (grammar, spelling, punctuation).
- Proficient typing speed and accuracy (minimum 60 WPM).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Familiarity with various audio formats and transcription software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in audio transcription, particularly podcast or media content.
- Experience with advanced transcription tools or AI-assisted transcription platforms.
- Knowledge of different podcast genres and industry terminology.
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
