Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and compassionate Private Hospital Porter to join our team in Chesterfield. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our hospital, directly impacting patient comfort and staff productivity. You will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients, medical equipment, specimens, and documentation throughout the facility. This position requires a proactive individual with excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of discretion and patient care within an upscale healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport patients safely and comfortably by wheelchair, bed, or trolley to and from various departments, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Move medical equipment, laboratory samples, pharmacy items, and other supplies efficiently between hospital areas as required.
- Assist in the preparation and tidiness of patient rooms and clinical areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of transport equipment, reporting any defects.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
- Respond promptly to requests for portering services.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, infection control policies, and patient confidentiality.
- Provide basic assistance and reassurance to patients during transport.
- Support the wider hospital team with general duties to ensure a smooth operation.
