Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and skilled Port Authority Vehicle Driver to join our Scranton team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of newly imported vehicles within our logistics facilities and designated areas. This position requires careful handling of a variety of vehicle types, adherence to strict safety protocols, and clear communication with the logistics team to ensure smooth operations and timely vehicle transfer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a variety of vehicles, including passenger cars, trucks, and SUVs, within port facilities, lots, and designated routes.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles for any existing or new damage, accurately documenting findings.
  • Ensure proper placement and staging of vehicles according to operational plans and inventory management systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements, mileage, and condition.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, traffic laws, and port authority regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and team members regarding vehicle status and logistical requirements.
  • Assist with other yard and vehicle-related tasks as needed to support efficient operations.

Required Skills

  • Valid state driver's license (Class C or equivalent).
  • Clean driving record with no major infractions.
  • Ability to operate vehicles with both automatic and manual transmissions.
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and drive for extended periods in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in vehicle logistics, car hauling, or yard driving.
  • Familiarity with port or large-scale logistics facility operations.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and maintenance.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
