Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled PRN (Pro Re Nata) Pharmacy Technician to join our team in South Bend, IN. This flexible role allows you to work on an as-needed basis, providing critical support to our pharmacy operations while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. As a PRN Pharmacy Technician, you will assist pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Process patient prescriptions, including data entry, insurance verification, and prescription billing.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service, answering patient questions and addressing concerns.
- Manage cash register transactions and handle patient payments.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with immunization clinics and other pharmacy services as needed.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA
- Current state-specific Pharmacy Technician license/registration, if required
- Minimum 6 months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and basic computer skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with Walgreens pharmacy systems
- Experience in a high-volume retail pharmacy setting
- Associate's degree or higher in a related field
