Job Description
First Student is seeking a compassionate and responsible Professional Sedan Aide to join our team in Greeley, CO. This vital part-time role focuses on providing safe and reliable transportation for students, particularly those with special needs or requiring specialized routing, to and from school during school hours. This position offers a flexible schedule, perfectly suited for individuals seeking work that aligns with school calendars and family commitments. You will be instrumental in ensuring a positive, secure, and supportive environment for our young passengers, embodying our commitment to safety and student well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport students according to assigned routes and schedules using a company-provided sedan.
- Assist students with boarding and de-boarding, ensuring their comfort, safety, and securement if needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe vehicle interior at all times.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Strictly adhere to all traffic laws, company safety regulations, and local transportation guidelines.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, school staff, and dispatch personnel.
- Provide compassionate, attentive, and patient care to all students, especially those with special needs or specific requirements.
- Accurately complete and submit all required daily paperwork and reports.
- Respond to emergencies or unexpected situations calmly and effectively, following established protocols.
Required Skills
- Valid Colorado Driver's License (Class C or higher).
- Clean driving record for the past 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug test.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to student safety and well-being.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and follow precise instructions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for simple vehicle checks and reporting issues.
- Physical ability to assist students with disabilities, including lifting or securement if necessary.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in transportation, childcare, or working with individuals with special needs.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Familiarity with Greeley-Evans School District 6 routes and schools.
