Job Description
Are you a passionate and knowledgeable Math and/or Science specialist looking for a flexible, rewarding role with a high hourly rate? Tutorful is seeking dedicated Remote Math/Science Tutors to join our vibrant community of educators. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on students’ academic journeys, working from home with complete schedule flexibility. You will provide one-on-one online tutoring sessions, tailoring your approach to meet the unique needs of each student and helping them excel in their studies. This position is 100% remote, allowing you to work from anywhere within the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging and effective one-on-one online tutoring sessions in Math (all levels) and/or Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics up to A-level).
- Develop personalized lesson plans and teaching strategies based on students' individual learning styles and academic goals.
- Provide constructive feedback and assess student progress regularly.
- Maintain open and professional communication with students and, where applicable, their parents/guardians.
- Stay updated on curriculum requirements and educational best practices.
- Utilize Tutorful's online platform tools effectively for scheduling, virtual whiteboards, and resource sharing.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated expertise in Math (Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, Statistics) and/or Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) up to A-level/High School equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Reliable internet connection and suitable home office setup for online tutoring.
- Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring (minimum 1 year).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Science, Education, or a related field.
- Experience with online tutoring platforms and virtual learning environments.
- Knowledge of various national curricula (e.g., GCSE, A-Level, IB).
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
