Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and meticulously detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Yacht Teak Deck Polisher. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the specialized cleaning, polishing, and restoration of teak decks on a variety of yachts and boats. This position demands a keen eye for detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation for our discerning clientele. You will play a vital role in ensuring the aesthetic appeal and longevity of our vessels’ teak surfaces, contributing directly to the premium experience MarineMax offers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough cleaning, sanding, and polishing of teak decks and other teak surfaces on yachts and boats.
  • Apply appropriate cleaning agents, polishes, and sealants according to manufacturer specifications and best practices for teak care.
  • Inspect teak surfaces for damage, wear, or staining and report findings to management.
  • Safely operate and maintain specialized cleaning equipment and tools.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations while working in the marina environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist with other general boat detailing and cleaning tasks as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress and any issues encountered.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to perform tasks with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning products and their safe application.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in yacht detailing, automotive detailing, or similar cleaning/restoration roles.
  • Familiarity with marine environments and vessel components.
  • Experience with various power tools and hand tools used in cleaning and polishing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
