Job Description

Join Charles Schwab as a Remote Quantitative Analyst, focusing on Statistical Modeling. In this critical role, you will apply advanced statistical and mathematical techniques to analyze complex financial data, develop predictive models, and provide actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making. This position is 100% remote, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere within the US. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, risk management, and trading, to enhance our analytical capabilities and optimize business performance. We are looking for a highly analytical individual with a passion for quantitative finance and a proven track record in statistical modeling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and implement sophisticated statistical models for various financial applications, including risk management, portfolio optimization, and market prediction.
  • Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, providing clear and concise reports to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand their analytical needs and translate them into quantitative solutions.
  • Perform rigorous backtesting and stress-testing of models to ensure robustness and accuracy.
  • Document model methodologies, assumptions, and limitations in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and new quantitative methodologies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data infrastructure and analytical tools.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in statistical modeling (e.g., regression, time series, machine learning algorithms).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SAS.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, products, and quantitative finance concepts.
  • Experience with large datasets and data manipulation techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (e.g., Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering).

  • Knowledge of SQL and database management.
