Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Technical Writer to join our dynamic team. In this 100% remote role, you will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, online help, and release notes for our cutting-edge software products. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and support teams to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency across all documentation, making complex technical information easily understandable for diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including user manuals, administration guides, release notes, and online help systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and support teams to gather information, understand product features, and define documentation requirements.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and accurate content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ensure documentation adheres to established style guides, terminology, and branding standards.
- Manage documentation through the entire lifecycle, from planning and drafting to review, publication, and ongoing updates.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve documentation processes and tools.
- Participate in product design and development discussions to advocate for user experience and documentation needs.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of professional technical writing experience in a software development environment.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation.
- Proficiency with documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Paligo, Adobe RoboHelp, or similar.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, English, or a related field.
- Experience with DITA, XML, or other structured authoring environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and associated documentation.
- Experience creating developer-focused documentation (APIs, SDKs).
- Portfolio of technical writing samples demonstrating expertise.
