Job Description
Are you passionate about retail and eager to start a career in merchandising? Next PLC is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Retail Merchandiser Trainee to join our dynamic team in Leeds. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals with no prior experience who are keen to learn the ins and outs of retail merchandising. You will be responsible for travelling to various Next stores within a designated region, ensuring our product displays are visually appealing, well-stocked, and compliant with brand guidelines. This role offers hands-on experience, comprehensive training, and the opportunity to grow within a leading retail organisation. Travel expenses and mileage will be compensated.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to assigned Next retail stores within the region to perform merchandising activities.
- Implement visual merchandising guidelines, ensuring displays are attractive and consistent with brand standards.
- Monitor stock levels on shelves and replenish products as needed from the stockroom.
- Organise and rotate merchandise to maximise sales and minimise waste.
- Assist with the setup of new product launches and promotional displays.
- Provide feedback to the merchandising team on product performance, display effectiveness, and store specific challenges.
- Maintain a clean and organised sales floor, paying attention to product placement and signage.
- Build positive working relationships with store management and staff.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures.
Required Skills
- Full valid UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning.
- Physical ability to lift and move merchandise, stand for extended periods, and travel frequently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment (not essential, but a plus).
- Basic understanding of visual merchandising principles.
- Geographic familiarity with the Leeds region and surrounding areas.
