Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Water Management Technician with a strong focus on the unique challenges and requirements of the fracking industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the on-site management, monitoring, and treatment of water systems primarily supporting fracking operations. This role involves ensuring water quality, optimizing treatment processes, maintaining equipment, and adhering to strict environmental and safety regulations. You will be a critical part of a team dedicated to providing sustainable and efficient water solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain water treatment equipment and systems at client fracking sites.
  • Perform routine water quality testing, analysis, and data logging to ensure compliance with operational and regulatory standards.
  • Adjust chemical dosages and treatment parameters based on water analysis results and operational needs.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on pumps, filters, chemical feed systems, and other water management infrastructure.
  • Document all site activities, including equipment readings, test results, maintenance logs, and chemical inventory.
  • Collaborate with client site personnel to understand operational needs and provide effective water management solutions.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Respond to and resolve operational issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure continuous service.
  • Provide technical support and training to client staff on best practices for water handling and treatment.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial water treatment or water management, with a preference for experience in the oil and gas or fracking industry.
  • Proven ability to operate and maintain various water treatment technologies (e.g., filtration, chemical treatment, clarification).
  • Strong understanding of water chemistry and analytical testing methods.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for mechanical and process issues.
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based environment and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications for data entry and reporting.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
  • Certifications in water treatment operations (e.g., Grade I/II Water Treatment Operator).
  • Experience with SCADA systems or other automated control systems.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations pertinent to industrial water discharge and reuse.
