Job Description
Are you a highly motivated student with a keen interest in risk management and regulatory compliance? RBC is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical intern to join our dynamic Risk Management & Compliance team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a leading global financial institution, contributing to projects that ensure the integrity and stability of our operations. You will support various initiatives related to regulatory adherence, internal controls, and risk assessment, learning directly from industry experts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the research and analysis of new and existing regulatory requirements impacting RBC's operations.
- Support the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures.
- Participate in risk assessment activities, identifying potential vulnerabilities and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Help prepare reports and presentations for senior management on compliance status and risk exposure.
- Collaborate with various business units to ensure understanding and adherence to compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities and risk assessments.
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects aimed at enhancing the bank's risk and compliance framework.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Finance, Economics, Business, Law, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated interest in financial services, risk management, or regulatory compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or work experience in a professional office environment.
- Basic understanding of financial regulations (e.g., OSFI, FINTRAC) and risk frameworks.
- Experience with data analysis tools or software.
- Strong academic record.
