Job Description
Join UPS as a Seasonal Driver Aide and become an essential part of our package delivery team in Fort Wayne, IN! This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals seeking active, temporary work during our peak season, typically from November through December. In this ride-along role, you will assist our UPS drivers with package delivery and pickups, requiring no driver’s license. You’ll gain valuable experience in a fast-paced logistics environment, contribute to efficient delivery operations, and help us meet our seasonal demands. Key Responsibilities
- Assist UPS package delivery drivers with daily package deliveries and pickups in residential and business areas.
- Handle packages of various sizes and weights, safely loading and unloading from the delivery vehicle.
- Navigate routes efficiently with the driver, ensuring timely completion of deliveries.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with customers and colleagues.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures set forth by UPS.
- Communicate effectively with the driver regarding route progress and any issues encountered.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, lower, and carry packages up to 70 lbs (32 kg) independently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing conditions.
- Excellent physical stamina for frequent walking, bending, lifting, and climbing stairs.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as required during peak season.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role or outdoor work.
- Familiarity with the Fort Wayne, IN geographical area.
