Job Description

We are actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our compassionate team in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced personal care assistance to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support, always respecting individual dignity and preferences.
  • Administer medications as per established protocols and individual care plans, accurately documenting all dosages and observations.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, observe changes in residents' health or behavior, and report findings promptly to the nursing staff.
  • Assist residents with feeding, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met, and promoting a positive dining experience.
  • Support residents in participating in social activities and community programs to enhance their quality of life.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with the nursing team, other healthcare professionals, and family members to ensure holistic and coordinated care.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior healthcare assistants, sharing best practices and promoting a positive team culture.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Document care provided, observations, and any incidents accurately and thoroughly in resident records.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Healthcare Assistant or Personal Support Worker.
  • Relevant certification or diploma in healthcare assistance, nursing aid, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to administer medications safely and accurately.
  • Strong understanding of resident care principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in observing, documenting, and reporting changes in residents' health status.
  • Valid first aid and CPR certification.
