Job Description

BrightStar Care of Tampa is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Caregiver to provide personalized, high-quality care to individuals with diverse needs in Ybor City and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning as needed.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with light exercise programs.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Engage clients in stimulating activities and provide companionship.
- Observe and report any changes in client condition to the nursing supervisor.
- Follow individualized care plans diligently and accurately.
- Ensure client safety and well-being at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven empathy, compassion, and patience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and care plans accurately.
- Strong observational and reporting skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to handle physical demands of caregiving, including lifting and transferring.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of supervised experience in a caregiving role (personal or professional).
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA).
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
