Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level State/Provincial Audit Assistant to join our team in Palmdale, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in auditing, providing support to senior auditors on various state and provincial government client engagements. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in audit procedures, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance within a dynamic and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution of audit procedures under the supervision of senior auditors.
- Prepare audit documentation and working papers in accordance with firm standards.
- Verify financial data and transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Support the team in data collection, analysis, and reconciliation tasks.
- Communicate effectively with team members and client personnel to gather necessary information.
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to audit planning discussions.
- Learn and apply audit methodologies and firm software tools.
- Perform administrative duties as required to support audit engagements.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or actively pursuing)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship experience in accounting or finance
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and auditing standards
