Job Description
Are you a student looking for a dynamic part-time role that supports a healthy lifestyle? Planet Fitness is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Student Fitness Floor Host to join our Cedar Rapids team. In this role, you will be the friendly face of our gym, ensuring members have a positive and comfortable experience. You’ll assist with facility upkeep, member inquiries, and maintain the clean, “Judgement Free Zone” atmosphere that Planet Fitness is known for. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable work experience in a vibrant environment, with the added benefit of a free gym membership!
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet members and guests upon entry and exit.
- Monitor the fitness floor to ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment.
- Assist members with basic equipment inquiries and gym navigation.
- Perform regular facility walk-throughs to address cleanliness and equipment functionality.
- Ensure all areas, including locker rooms, restrooms, and fitness equipment, are tidy and well-maintained.
- Handle light administrative tasks, such as answering phones and processing paperwork.
- Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the Judgement Free Zone®.
- Uphold all company policies and procedures and ensure member satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Basic problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable with light physical duties (e.g., walking, bending, light lifting).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Current enrollment in a high school or college program.
- CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
- Passion for fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
